Andalou Naturals is a awesome beauty brand that is 100% cruelty free and 90% of their products are vegan which is super awesome!
Late last year I purchased two of their starter kits to try out. I’m finally getting around to writing a review on them!
I’ve been meaning to do this blog post for awhile but I saw that Nourished Life currently have 50% off Andalou Naturals so I thought I would get this post up so if you’re wanting to try them out, now is the time! The sale end on the 9/04 so make sure you
Andalou Natural products are made with a minimum of 70% certified organic ingredients which is super good. Their products are also GMO free, Cruelty Free, Gluten Free and dermatologist-tested. Also the packaging used is recyclable which is always a plus.
I couldn’t choose between two kits so I picked up both of them. The first one I tried out was the sensitive skin starter kit. My skin isn’t overly sensitive but I do get some sensitivity when I get my period.
This starter kit comes with:
I wish this kit came with a cleanser so then you could use the kit for all of your skincare steps. The Roses Pearl Exfoliator was really nice. It wasn’t too rough and it left my skin feeling super soft. It left my skin hydrated which was super nice. It has Rose Oils and Jojoba pearls inside which is definitely going to hydrate the skin. The Roses Floral Toner wasn’t anything amazing, I would use it again if I had it but I don’t think I would go out of my way to repurchase it.
The Rosewater mask was really nice but I only got about 3 full face masks out of it so the full size of it would be good as you would get to try it more. Whenever my skin was feeling more sensitive I would pop the mask on and my skin would calm down immediately.
The Beautiful Day Cream and the Heavenly Night Cream were nice. They weren’t too hydrating which was good but I do prefer my night creams to be a little heavier so I can lock that hydration in over night. I found the day cream and the night cream lasted longer than I expected and I got nearly a months worth out of both which is great value for money.
This pack is suppose to enhance the skin’s natural barrier and I found it definitely did that. I used these product all together till they ran out and I found my skin was a lot less sensitive than normal.
It does say on the Nourished Life website that the 5 items should last about 2 weeks.
I was really interested in this kit as it’s called the Clear Skin starter kit and I definitely need help with clearing my skin up.
The Clear Skin kit has a unique PhytoCellTec Argan Stem cells that are suppose to help support your skin’s tone, promote collagen and elastin and energise the complexion. It contains aloe vera which is great for reducing redness and helping to calm skin. This kit also contains Willow Bark Extract and salicylic acid which is suppose to help clarify the pore, deter bacteria and absorb excess oil and help fade scarring.
This starter kit comes with:
The Cleansing gel wasn’t too bad, it did have that foaming effect which I don’t usually like it cleansers but it did clean my skin well without stripping too much oil from my face. I absolutely loved the toner and have since purchased the toner in the full size and I’ve already finished it. The toner has aloe vera juice so it helps to hydrate the skin and soothes it as well which is great for painful acne. The Willow bark extract also helps calm the skin and it has Kombucha probiotics which nourish the skin with antioxidants. I use it daily after cleansing and it leaves the skin feeling soft and has a slight tingling feeling which feels calming. The Komucha Enzyme Exfoliating mask was really nice. It left my skin feeling super smooth but also calmed my skin at the same time.
The one thing that annoys me about acne skincare is that a lot of the products are oil free or oil controlling and it irritates me because not everyone that has acne has oily skin too. I have dry skin but also get acne so I didn’t really have great success with the Acai + Kombucha Oil-Free Moisturiser but if you have oily skin and acne I think you would really enjoy it.
The Argan Stem Recovery Cream was nice but not hydrating enough for me. It did sink into the skin nicely and is suggested to use as a night cream which I did but I would of liked more hydration but as this line has oil control that won’t happen if you are on the dryer side like myself. This kit lasted the two weeks like it said it would which is a plus in my books!
Overall I would repurchase the Willow Bark toner, 1000 Roses Pearl Exfoliator, 1000 Roses Rosewater Mask and the Kombucha Enzyme Exfoliating mask.
