August Favourites |Vegan & Cruelty-Free

Hello and welcome to another blog post!

I’m going to be trying to do monthly favourites again because I think it’s a great way to try and review products for everyone.

Lets get into it!

Botani Radiant Rose Mask $39.95

I’m always on the hunt for new face masks as I love doing them every few days and trying out new ones. I came across this radiant rose face mask by Botani when I was shopping online at Flora & Fauna and I picked it up to try. It is expensive but a little goes a long way and so far I’ve gotten over 5 uses out of it and I’m not even half way through it.

The Radiant Rose Mask is a intensive nourishing and moisturising face mask for all skin types. The rose and geranium scent is gorgeous and makes you feel like your at a spa. This mask is perfect for reviving lifeless skin (thanks winter) and leaves your skin moisturised, plump and soft. This mask doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin which makes me really happy. You can leave it on overnight as well for maximum results.

Lush Twilight Shower Gel 250g $19.95

I’ve recently fallen back in love with this gorgeous shower gel. It has an amazing blend of tonka, ylang ylang, lavender and benzoin resinoid. If you love lavender you will love this shower gel. Whenever I saw the Twilight fragrance I instantly feel calmer. I have sensitive skin and this shower gel doesn’t irritate my skin at all and leaves it feeling soft and clean. The scent also lingers on the skin after you use it.

Botani Rescue Acne Cream $26.95

I’ve posted about this Acne cream in a recent blog post but I wanted to do a more detailed review here. If you don’t know already, I have PCOS and one of the symptoms I get from that is hormonal acne on my chin and neck. It’s not something that I can get rid of completely at this stage but I can use products to help the appearance and healing of it. I’ve gone between different acne creams and spot treatments over the years and when I came across this one on Flora & Fauna I knew I had to try it.

This acne cream dries and heals pimples in acne and blemish prone skin and doesn’t leave the skin feeling dry and tight. It’s effective against Propionibacterium acnes bacteria and kills it up to 99.99%. It’s super gentle on your skin and soothes and relieves red irritated lesions and doesn’t aggravate the surrounding skin.

Some of the benefits are:

  • Gentle absorption of excess oil and impurities
  • Non-abrasive and non-drying on skin
  • Reduces inflammation and redness
  • Can be used after shaving to relieve minor skin irritations, inflammation and dryness associated with shaving.

I’ve noticed that after using this for awhile that the current acne that I used it on doesn’t scare as bad as usual which is great!

Maui Moisture Nourish & Moisture + Coconut Milk Weightless Oil Mist $19.99

I bought this spray in the last Priceline haircare sale to try out and I really like it. This spray is infused with aloe vera extract and coconut oil. It leaves your hair shiny and helps tame frizz. I have curly hair so I always have some type of frizz present and my hair never looks shiny unless I straighten it which I try not to do often. When I use this it tames the frizz and leaves it soft, shiny and smelling great. You can use it on wet or dry hair and a little goes a long way. Trust me, when I first used it I spray heaps and it was way too much oil in my hair. Overall it gives your hair a healthy glow.

Lush Rub Rub Rub $14.95

Rub Rub Rub is an awesome shower scrub that Lush makes and it’s made with sea salt, lemon juice a other amazing ingredients that leave your skin feeling super soft. It can be used on wet skin or dry skin as well. But my favourite way to use this is actually in my hair. I have a super dry and flakey scalp and nothing fixes it but this is something I have found that relieves any itchiness and helps get rid of any nasty flakes for a while. As it’s an exfoliator, it gives my scalp a much needed scrub which helps remove any product build up and leaves my scalp feeling fresh. Because it does contain sea salt it leaves your hair with awesome volume.

I haven’t found anything to use in my hair that gives the same amazing results as this.

Eco Modern Essentials Sleep Essential Oil Blend $16.00

I love diffusing essential oils and this Sleep blend is perfect before bedtime. I’m currently on my second bottle and I love it so much I bought one for both of my best friends to try.

It has an amazing relaxing blend of lavender, mandarin, frankincense, chamomile and ylang ylang essential oils. You can diffuse this blend, use it with tea lights or with a carrier oil for a lovely massage.

Lush Lip Scrubs $9.95

I’ve been using Lush lip scrubs for years and I love them. A lip scrub is usually a sugar base scrub that leaves your lips soft and exfoliated and helps get rid of any dry or flaky skin. Lush has 4 different lip scrubs that they offer all year round and they usually come out with limited edition flavours at Christmas time. Their lip scrubs are usually a blend of caster sugar or fine sugar, jojoba oil and other oils that add flavour.

For their Christmas collection last year, Lush released two naked lip scrubs which are lip scrubs with no packaging and I bought both of them and I think I honestly prefer them over the potted version because they are easy to use, you just take the whole thing and rub it on your lips, their is no mess and they are easy to store. The naked ones are made with finer sugar as well and I feel like it gives my lips a better scrub.

Lip scrubs are great before applying lipstick as it allows your lipstick to glide on and stay put. As they contain jojoba oil, they leave your lips moisturised.

Thanks for reading!
