I’ve been meaning to do an empties post for nearly a year and I’ve finally gotten around to it. I usually forget to keep products I’ve used or forget where I’ve put them but I have finally dedicated a box to them with a sign so I can actually remember for once.
In this post there are some Lush items, face masks, facial oils and more.
I have provided links and prices for each item. I hope you enjoy reading 🙂
Lush Charity Pot Hand and Body Lotion $14.95
Charity Pot is a rich body and hand lotion and 100% of profits from each tub go to the charity that is pictured on the tub. I’ve had a few tabs of charity pot and it’s a great body lotion. I find it makes my hand a little greasy so I don’t tend to use it on my hands.
Pearl Bar Charcoal Infused Planet-Loving Floss Picks $9.95
These floss picks are charcoal infused, 100% biodegradable, vegan and fair-traded. You receive 30 in a pack and they are mint flavoured. These floss picks were quite good. I found they didn’t break either and one of the floss picks was enough to do my whole mouth. What I really love about these is that you can just put them into the garden, in soil and it will biodegrade.
Desert Essence Organic Jojoba Oil $16.31
I bought this jojoba oil to use in a mix with castor oil and tea tree oil to make a hair treatment. It is a decent oil and can be used on hair, skin and scalp. I probably won’t purchase it again due to the price.
Lush Tea Tree Water Toner Water $10.50
I’ve been using this toner on and off for over 5 years. It will always be one of my favourites. It’s affordable, lasts ages and is great on my dry/acne prone skin. I definitely recommend trying out this toner!
Australian Pure Beauty Makeup Be Gone Micellar Water Make Up Remover $3.99
This micellar water is a great vegan alternative for the Garnier one. It removes makeup and eye makeup with ease and is super affordable. I will definitely be repurchasing it.
Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil $23
My best friend swears by this argan oil and bought this for me. What I love about this Argan Oil is that you can use it as a daily moisturizer, nighttime treatment and to heal and condition anything from cuticles to split ends. This oil is great in your hair as it is absorbed quickly and doesn’t leave your hair feeling oily like some oils do. The only thing I don’t like about this product is the price point but a small part goes a long way and I will definitely repurchase when I have the money.
Isocol Rubbing Alcohol Antiseptic $9.95
This is probably my 3rd bottle of this stuff. It has so many uses. It can be used as an antispetic, aftershave and body rub, disinfecting surfaces, makeup brushes and more. I use this as a toner for my acne when it’s really bad, usually around that time of the month. I also use this to sanitise my makeup brushes and products. You can also buy the Isocol in a small spray bottle which is great for cleaning makeup brushes.
Lush Sleepy Body Lotion 45g
Sleepy is one of my favourite products from Lush. It’s a dream lotion made with an infusion of oatmeal, lavender flower and sweet tonka absolute. It’s a beautiful purple colour with shimmer in it and is best used before bed as it will send you off into a peaceful sleep. Sleepy was a limited edition product that came out at Christmas time and has now become permanent due to the crazy popular demand of the product. I received this 45g size tub in a gift pack I bought. If you have trouble sleeping like I do, I definitely recommend trying this product out as it may help!
Cococare 100% Tea Tree Oil $8.12
I used this tea tree oil with the jojoba oil that I mentioned in this post, along with castor oil to make a hair treatment for prompting hair growth and helping combat my dry scalp and dandruff issues. Tea tree oil is recognised worldwide for its magical properties. It’s also great for the skin and often used to treat breakouts and acne effected areas.
Aesop Control $23.00
Aesop Control is an anti-blemish gel formulated to reduce the severity and appearance of blemishes quickly. I found this didn’t really work at all for my blemishes and there are a lot of different options that work and are reasonably cheaper.
Black Chicken Cacao Revelation Mask Sample $10.95
I bought this sample of the mask to try out as the full size is $69.95. I got one generous use out of this mask and found it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I will probably repurchase the full size product so I can try it out a few more times and see if it makes a difference to my skin.
Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter $16.95
I bought this product ages ago before I was vegan and only finished it about a month ago. This product is a great cuticle treatment if you have super dry cuticles like myself. I won’t be repurchasing this product due to it not being vegan but if it ever to become vegan, I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
Medusa’s Makeup 100% Maracuja Oil $15.95
I purchased this product as I used to use the Tarte Maracuja Oil and had great results from it with my acne. Marcuja oil is rich in vitamin C and is suppose to make skin appear brighter and more radiant instantly. Medusa’s Makeup says it’s highly recommended for acne prone skin, anti-aging, general skin care, dry skin, dry and damaged hair, lip care, muscular aches and swelling, massage, relaxation and insomnia.
The Medusa’a Makeup version is cheaper so I tried it out. I didn’t notice a huge difference with my acne but I did notice it gave my skin a nice glow. The only downside would be that it only comes in a 10ml size so it doesn’t last long.
The Little Alchemist Cacao & Banana Face Glo Revitalising Nutrient Mask $34
I received this mask in a beauty box subscription. I got about 3 uses out of the 30g size. It’s a nice mask that leaves your skin fresh and glowy. You could definitely get more uses out of this mask by using less, but I like to make quite a thick mask.
Mukti Age Defiance Vital C Elixir Sample
I received this sample in the Bellabox X Nourished Life collaboration box. Although the sample appears small I got 8 days of use out of this size. A little goes a long way and it absorbs quickly into the skin. This elixir works to reduce the signs of ageing, helping to firm and protect the skin from the effects of sun damage. While it’s not a cheap serum (retails for $109.95) I would definitely recommend trying it if you’re looking for something to treat sun damage and firm the skin.
Wild Healing Body Butter in Wild Mint Sample
I received this sample in one of the vegan beauty boxes awhile ago. I fell in love with this raw body butter as soon as I opened it. It has this amazing mint scent that reminds me of candy canes at Christmas. Usually with body butters I find they are super thick and you can feel it sitting on the skin which is what I hate, but with the Wild healing body butter, it’s not too thick and sits nicely on the skin without that horrible thick feeling and is absorbed super quickly. I’ve been meaning to repurchase this product for a while now so I better go do that haha. Wild Healing are a small business that do amazing skincare products and also sell herbs, crystals and more.
Thank you for reading my first empties post and let me know if you enjoyed it and would like to see more empties posts or if you have tried any of this products?
